"You're playing a dangerous game, princess."
"I thought you were a dangerous man?"
Two strangers: Kaelin Bennett—CTO of Phox, a military tech company, and Graham Wolfe—a semi-retired veteran working on and off for private military companies, just crash landed in the deep wild. He’s in handcuffs and she just saved his life so it looks like they’re in it together much to both of their dismays.
Kaelin and Graham’s battle out of the wild starts with just trying to survive each other but when one of Graham’s old military buddies shows up out of nowhere, it’s not to save them—and they both quickly discover something sinister is going on. The forest holds some terrifying secrets that just may break them and Graham suddenly finds himself fighting to rescue Kaelin from the darkest depths of human depravity—all while he battles his own demons hiding in the shadows.
There are no heroes here—and the villains take what they want.
Truly a one of a kind dark contemporary romance!
I rarely ever write reviews, but damn does this book need a good review! If you are a dark contemporary romance reader this is for you!
There truly is no comparison to her book. The plot is so different than any book I have ever read. But… if you liked Haunting and Hunting Adeline, you will love this! This is on par if not better.
The ending is OMFG chefs kiss good! I love me a good darkness combined with a HEA!!
Cannot wait to read more from this author!
Wow! 😍👏
What an absolutely amazing book! 🫠
I can honestly say this book was a rough read, hard especially with what Kaelin had to endure, but she was tough! I loved her, and even though i probably shouldn't love Kraven, I did! Graham was amazing, and even battling his own demons, he made for an amazing character. This book was perfection, I'm speechless, and Devyn did an amazing job creating this story.... and the ending? Chef's Kiss!
This queen took this trope and completely changed the game.
Devyn is a new, to me, author and the blurb for this book really caught my eye. I am a complete sucker for anti-heroes and a damn good plot that’s different from “typical” dark romances. This queen took this trope and completely changed the game for me. This is dark, gritty, rough and pulled more emotion from me as I read it and I couldn’t put it down.
I can’t say enough good things about this book…Devyn wrote this in a way that made me feel as if I was experiencing the pain and fear when Kaelin did and the triumph and renewed strength as she healed. The character and world build are spot-on perfection, add in the plot twists and much deserved HEA - this book will definitely be a new addition to my physical library because it’s the best read of the year for me.
